Rules for selection:

(i) Your team must be of one of the following formations.
A goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders, 3 forwards
A goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 5 midfielders, 2 forwards
A goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 forwards
A goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 forwards
A goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 5 midfielders, 1 forwards
A goalkeeper, 5 defenders, 3 midfielders, 2 forwards
A goalkeeper, 5 defenders, 4 midfielders, 1 forwards

(ii) Your team must not exceed £50m in total cost.

(iii) Scoring will be as follows

  • Goalkeepers and Defenders receive 5 points for a clean sheet if they've played a minimum of 60 minutes
  • Goalkeepers receive 3 points for a penalty save. (Excluding a penalty shootout)
  • Goalkeepers and Defenders have -1 point deducted for every goal conceded after the first.
  • NEW: All players receive 6 points for a goal (excluding penalty shootouts)
  • All players receive -1 point for a yellow card.
  • All players receive -3 points for a red card (or two yellows).
  • All players receive -3 points for taking and not scoring a penalty
  • NEW: All players receive 3 points for a goal assist.
  • All players receive -2 points for scoring an own goal
  • All players receive 1 point for a shot on target
  • All players receive 1 point for a big chance created
  • All players receive 1 point for every 2 tackles made
  • All players receive 1 point for playing upto 60 minutes
  • All players receive 1 point for playing more than 60 minutes
  • Goalkeepers receive 1 point for every 2 saves
  • All players receive 1,3 or 5 points for reaching a tier of player performance marks (see below)

(iv) Bonus points are awarded if a player accrues player performance marks (ppm) through actions in the game, and reaches a tier level. There are three tier levels, tier 1 10-14 ppm is worth 1 point, tier 2 15-19 ppm is worth 3 points, tier 3 20+ ppm is worth 5 points. PPMs are awarded for the following actions

  • Successful dribbles +1 PPM
  • Crosses +1 PPM
  • Offsides -1 PPM
  • Pass Completion Rate (70-80%) +1 PPM
  • Pass Completion Rate (70-80%) +2 PPM
  • Pass Completion Rate (70-80%) +3 PPM
  • Interceptions +1 PPM
  • Block +1 PPM
  • Goal outside of area +1 PPM
  • Foul Won +1 PPM
  • Foul Conceded -1 PPM
  • Error leading to a goal -2 PPM

(iv) The scoring system applies to matches played in the following competitions

(v) There are no transfer windows this season, the team has 6 transfers that can be made at any time during the season. If a transfer is made before 12:00pm on match day, then the substitute will be made immediately and play in the matchday games. If a transfer is made after 12:00pom on match day, then the substitute will appear in a pending list, and will be available for matches from the following day. This is to prevent a player scoring highly and then being transferred in before the guysports scoring update and accrueing those points for a team.

(vi) Competition entry, all entries must be registered online or via email and accepted by 20:00 Friday 15th August 2025. Following online registration, the entry fee of £10.00 must be forwarded to Guy Barden or via Paypal or Internet Banking. Entry will be invalid until payment is received, and team will be removed from entry if payment not received by closing deadline.

Once you have registered your team, you can change the team via your Guysports Team page as many times as you like until the closing deadline.

(vii) Prizes: Placings, The number of entrants will determine the prize award places. There will be a prize place for every 10 contestants entered upto a maximum of 6 places. There will be a manager of the month prize available for the months Aug -> May inclusive.
